VPT to establish major port in Nellore

Visakhapatnam Port Trust VPT will establish a major port in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) will establish a major port in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh with a total investment of Rs 9,500 crore to be spent within a span of 30 years on the project with an initial investment of Rs 4,500 crore. The proposed port will come up at Duggarajupatnam, where four berths would be constructed. The site would be developed as a major port in East Coast. Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) is carrying out a feasibility study, and a special-purpose  vehicle will be floated for setting up the port.
